The power of Bleach
Before you call child protective services please continue to read. Ashley in the past would wake up with an occasional bloody nose. I asked her Doctor about it at her last appointment. He didn't seem to concerned. But in the last couple weeks it has gotten out of control. It is terrifying to wake up to your little girl covered in blood. Now,I just expect it. I had a friend that told me to put Vaseline in her nose before she goes to bed so I did that tonight, cross your finger for tomorrow morning.
So not only has this been a constant worry and I think that another doc appointment is in need. I am sick, sick, sick of doing the laundry!!!!! Crib sheets, jammies, blankets, let alone Ashley covered in blood everyday. It takes me a good hour or two to get it all washed and put back on her bed just for it to happen again the next night. But in all of this I have fallen in love with BLEACH. After trying to get the blood stains out I finally started using the oldest trick in the book, bleach. Whites are whiter and pinks still look bright. I have been walking around just finding things to bleach. Other than the fact that Jakes gray shorts turned a little purple/pink and I now have small discolored spots on other articles of clothing, my laundry looks much better and those cribs sheets look almost new. It been wonderful to have my house smell so clean. Now I just need to figure out what is going on with Ashley. I feel so bad for her. She always has something going on. I hope this clears up fast and isn't anything serious.

oh my gosh!! that is sooo sad! those pictures break my heart!! i get bloody noses a ton when the weather changes from warm to cold suddenly. it's weird. but always in the fall, and then in the spring..but that would freak me out if my kid had them that much! i'm sure she's fine..sorry, i shouldn't go off and make you worry! she still is sooo stinkin' cute, even with blood all over her face! have you googled it??
Poor little thing! Because it's blood it probably looks ten times worse than it actually is....I have to say that doing THAT much laundry would drive me nuts too. Good luck finding out what it is. Things like that can be tricky to figure out.
I'm so sorry Julie. It's probably nothing to worry about. For your peace of mind though I would get her checked out. My kids really haven't had bloddy noses so I don't have any real advice. I hope you can get answers soon!
I'm soooo glad the vasoline worked last night!! I hope that does the trick.
It's probably the dry air (i dunno, is the air dry out there?).
Try saline spray. No medicine in it, just saline. I have some and it really helps with keeping the nostrils moist. Ian gets bloody noses every once in a while. The nostrils get dried out, and then bleed, and stay dried out and bleed agian. It's a vicious (sp?) circle. Good luck!
That stinks for both of you to have to deal with this. I hope it doesn't last much longer. We want to come see you guys sometime. I have a new cell number 865-243-7194
Good luck with Ashley!!
Yuck! At first I thought it was poo and thought "OH Ashley has poo all over her face".
Your kids are adorable! I got your blog from John. Sorry about the bloody noses, I hope it gets better!
I haven't hard any more for two weeks that's almost a record. Thanks for the worry and the vasaline trick
