Fresh tomatoes yum

My mom and dad had the best garden. At the time I didn't really think that it was the best because it was huge and someone had to weed it and plant it and pick it. I personally gathered thousands of rocks out of that garden. As a kid I just wanted to eat junk food what ever was prepackaged and not healthy sounded good to me. The only meals we ever ate consisted of some kind of veggie out of the garden with salt and pepper with a little butter. Cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, carrots, potatoes, radishes, the list goes on and on, adorned every plate. "Kids this is fresh out of the garden" was common phase at our house. We ate very healthy. I didn't really appreciated as much as I should have. Now as an adult I would do anything for that, I crave it and nothing is the same as a tomatoes out of the garden with just a little salt.
So I thought that I should plant a garden this year now that planting season is here. After hours and hours pulling weeds removing grass and shoveling manewer from the neighbors barn as well as bringing in dirt, We are getting closer to a spot to plant. This is my sad little garden that I have spent hours and hours working on. Yes that is sheet rock. I was told Gypsum really does the job in breaking clay down, since that is mostly what I have in my back yard. So I went to the local construction zone ask the non English speaking worker if I could have some sheet rock to put in my garden. I know I still have much more to do but we are getting closer. "Roll Tide" Our Bama weekend

We went to Birmingham Alabama for Easter weekend. Matt's entire family excluding Dave, who is on a mission, all came. We had a wonderful time. We celebrated Ash and Matt's birthdays and played. Jake had a blast with his cousins and keeps asking to go back. Here are some of the pictures of our trip.
Ash still needs a little help to walk

Easter wouldn't be the same without the Hunt.

This was a hit with the kids, but when me and Matt did it we got going too fast and crashed.

Me and Jake went on a little bike ride.

9:00 and two kids asleep

Here is Jake's room. I am slightly struggling with what color to paint and where to hang pics and other thing in his room so I am needing some expert advise. Or you can come to Nashville and paint. His book shelf is empty because Jake has decided to rip the covers off his books. Therefore book privileges have been taken away for a few days.
If your kids are asleep and you are taking a pics of Jake's room where are your kids?

This is MOMS bed. Needless to say was had a rough night. Ash is sick and Jake.... He doesn't stay put.

HoW i LoVE my jAkE

The other day we were outside on the deck. Jake saw our neighbor working in the yard. He grabbed a rake from our house and carried it over. "I have a rake" He then started to help........... well tried to help. So Matt grabbed a shovel and started helping. What a good example Jake is even though he is so small.
